Shanna and Brian weren’t your typical engaged couple. The two wanted to skip the big wedding and do something small, something adventurous, something romantic–so they eloped.
They chose the Isle of Skye in Scotland as their wedding destination. Shanna said, “We wanted to get married someplace that felt familiar but different at the same time. Scotland shares a similar climate with Seattle, and we’d never been to that part of the world, so it felt like an adventure…the perfect way to start our new adventure.”
The private, picturesque setting was everything they imagined and more. “One of the primary reasons we wanted to elope was so that we could be vulnerable with each other and present in the moment when we said our vows. I felt so open and ready to commit my life to Brian when I said my vows. It was a really special moment.”
Shanna’s dress, the Laced Heartline from Fame and Partners (similar here), suited the location perfectly. Its white lace is traditional, but this piece isn’t the typical big, bridal ballgown: it’s simple, easy to wear, and light enough to move around in. Brides getting married in exotic locations that may or may not require hiking, this dress is for you.
