Why this fashion blogger says fashion needs to celebrate diversity.

Do not ever underestimate the power of a garment.

I’ve always considered myself to be an introvert. I am scared of speaking in public, I can be shy and I sometimes feel self-conscious about being myself around strangers. But I can wear an outfit (like actually put in effort) and feel like a totally different person. Just like superheroes and their armor, the clothes on my body give me an unbelievable amount of power.

A dress can make you feel untouchable. A power suit can make you feel indestructible. A pair of stilettos can make you feel sexy. Pants can make you feel more in control. Wearing a certain color can also influence your mood! Black: sensual, yellow: chirpy, red: in love.

I think my personal style borders on androgyny. There’s just something a little badass about being slightly boyish. I love pairing my oversized boyfriend shirts with skirts and my flowy blouses with something more tailored. Being able to express myself through style is a gift.

Fashion isn’t just about the latest trends and looking good – I have always believed it to be much deeper. Fashion is about self-worth, self-expression, self-confidence, and breaking barriers. In a world so diverse, fashion is one of the platforms that celebrates that. Everyone has their own personal style and that’s what makes it absolutely perfect.
