One look, two nights–two totally different ways.

The streets of New York City are one’s runway, always wearing your “Sunday best”, even on a Tuesday night. Not one day passes without a notable occasion, many of which require an evening ensemble consisting of either suggested “cocktail attire” or “casual cool”. Regardless of a recommended dress code, we all want to look our best and try our best to reinvent our ever-revolving and evolving wardrobes of seasonal items. As springtime weather quickly creeps up on us city folk, we look to find outfits that not only can be worn to evening events but also to Soho bars on a Saturday night.

This past week, I chose to wear a two-piece two ways, for two different occasions on two different nights.

This hi-lo skirt–paired with the top worn backwards–was perfect for the occasion.

Before heading to a brand event in Tribeca, I stopped in Little Italy for a quick gelato appetizer before eating some light bites at a brand launch. This hi-lo skirt, paired with the top worn backwards was perfect for the occasion. I elevated the ensemble by accessorizing the poplin two-piece with my jeweled mules, pearl drop earrings, and a sparkly minaudiere.

Being a sucker for a full skirt and ruffle, I knew I wanted to wear this two-piece look again. It just so happened I was meeting friends for drinks at a Soho hotel the next night and chose to dress down the look with a denim jacket while wearing the top with the tie in the front. Gold hoop earrings, aviators, and a jeweled sandal felt on-trend and casual enough to style with this look for cocktails and laughs after a long day’s work.
